Return the Favor - By: Cookthechef

It's back! The Return the Favor Program! This program allows members to recieve Comments and Critisism on signatures and artwork in the Rate My Work section. How it works is, one person posts at topic with, "[RTF]" in the topic title. Then those who post in the topic review the poster's graphic and gives Constructive Critisism. Next the person who replied to the topic posts a link to the topic of their own for the previous topic starter to post in it.

This helps many new artists to recieve genuine critisism. You can view the topic here.

Creative Suite 3 Review- By: Drolleke

Finally Adobe has released the new CS 3 package, containing lots of new features and add-ons. The new Creative suite comes in 4 packages;

-CS 3 Design Premium/standard which contains: Photoshop, Illustrator, inDesign, Flash and Dreamweaver.
-CS 3 Web Premium/standard which contains: Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash and Fireworks.
-CS 3 Production Premium which contains: After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, Flash, Illustrator and soundbooth.
-CS 3 Master Collection that comes with inDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash, Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Contribute, After effects, Premiere, Soundbooth and Encore.
*Acrobat reader CS 3 is included in all packages

I personally have got the Design Premium package, just for a few weeks now.
The first thing you notice about the new programs, are the new icons. Instead of the old white with feather (Photoshop) or flower (Illustrator) they now look like this:

They seem to go for simplicity this time.

When you launch one of the new programs, for example, in Photoshop the first thing you notice is that the new version is yet again faster. For intel mac users, the new CS 3 products go extra fast, because they are now intel based instead of power pc.
The layout of all the programs has been revamped with a new look. You now have expandable tabs, which are very easy and handy to use. the expandable tabs panels are also usefull for users with limited screen size.

New Features

Photoshop:
New thing in photoshop are the smart filters, which you can, for example, apply on a text, and afterwards you will still be able to edit your text, whitout loosing the filter effect. RAW camera support is also improved in this version. A new big feuture is the support of 3D moddeling images. you can now import 3D images into photoshop tha are in any of these formats: 3DS or OBJ. the files can be exported for most 3D programs.
Price: $999 for Photoshop extended or $649 for Photoshop

Flash:
One of the biggest updates is that your now able to import .PSD files or .AI files. for instance; when you import .AI (Adobe Illustrator) file, all vector images are kept, and can still be adjusted. Another update is Actionscript 3.0 . This language looks alot like Flex. the Debugger/compiler also looks alot like the one of Flex. Also, it now possible to convert an animation to Actionscript in only 2 clicks.
Price: $699

Illustrator:
Get more work done faster with this new version of Illusrator. Live Color is another new feature, which lets you make a group of color swatches and appely them on a group. Live Color also comes with a color picking tool, similar to that on http://kuler.adobe.com/ .?That way you can make a range of nicly fitting colors.
Price: $599

Dreamweaver:
The new dreamweaver basically work just the same like the old MX/8 version, but adobe impleted some new addons like the possibility to make spry tabs in a few clicks. Dreamweaver automatically writes the javascript and css needed. Drag-n-drop from Photoshop is now also integrated.
Price: $399
